Cleanup logs issue using BRTOOLS

Former Member

Hey experts,

I am facing an issue when using BRTOOLS with command prompt for cleanup job.

When I run the job, it stays at BR0259I Program execution will be continued... and nothing happens after that.

It stays there forever until I kill it and in the logs, it stays the same.

Any help on this regard would be greatly appreciated.

Regards.

hello

So the job of cleaning is not completing you mean.

If you are having large amount of logs and when one part of action is completed and BRtools switch to next one this statement will be written that its doing next set of action.

This is normal statement of BRtools when it starts executing the task.

Hey Vivek,

I checked the alert_XID.log and I could not find any alerts in the file. Is there any specific file that I need to look for?

Have you tried to schedule the cleanup job from DB13?

Also whats your brtools version? if possible try to upgrade, (no downtime require, just make sure no br* process are running)

Yes Sunil, I have tried using DB13 too. Same problem. BRTools is 7.00 and our NW is 7.01.

The weird thing is that this job runs on all the remaining servers merrily except for this one.

Hello Satya

You can update BR*Tools to 7.20 or even higher depending on prerequisites mentioned in the SAP Notes.

I would surely recommend it because there are features in 7.20 that are not available in 7.00 such as automatic calculation of system/dictionary statistics every X days along with regular statistics run.

Kind regards

Tom
