Problem in Special GL Indicator with special character #

Former Member

Dear Guyss,

Hoe every one is doing well.

I am facing an issue regarding the special character # in special GL Indicator.

Coming to the scenario, Special GL Indicator is one of my master data targets. it has around 66 records. for these 66 records, my client is using numbers(0-9), letters(A-Z). after that they are trying to use the special characters(which are above the numbers on the keyboard)..My data target is 1 character length.

It is taking everything !,@,$,%,^,&,* except #.

Even if i maintained that # in RSKC, then laso i am gettiing error while loading the master data text to special GL Indicator saying that # is not valid. and it has a compounding attribute Account type also.

the error message is :

0SP_GL_IND : Data record 28 ('K#E '): Version 'K# ' is not valid

Here K is my account type.

Diagnosis

Data record 28 & with the key 'K#E &' is invalid in value 'K# &' of the

attribute/characteristic 0SP_GL_IND &.

System Response

The system has recognized that the value mentioned above is invalid, and

has processed this general error message. A subsequent message may give

you more information on the error. This message refers to the same

value, even though it does not state this explicitly.

Procedure

If this message appears during a data load, maintain the attribute in

the PSA maintenance screens. If this message appears in the master data

maintenance screens, leave the transaction and call it again. Thisallows you to maintain your master data.

Please give me some inputs on this issue..

One of my friends said that, In BI single character # wont accept, and how far that statement was reliable..

Hi,

Don't know what this question is doing in this particular forum, but your friend has a point.

When you search the SCN you will find lots of information about handling special characters in SAP BW, specifically the #, which represents a blank.
