User ID and Passwords

Does anyone know if the System Admin ID, Admin ID and User ID passwords are stored within the BPC app or is it just referencing MS Active Directory account/passwords?

Our IT department is installing security software that will encrypt passwords and we don't know the impact this will have on the installation.

BPC 7.0M SP5 (production)

and BPC 7.5M SP3 (test)

Hi Ara,

The only place you need to check is the COM+ Service, the SysAdmin ID, Admin ID and User ID is used for the credential of all component applications, the password is recorded when you install the BPC, therefore if the encryption changes the password in AD, it would impact the password which was set by BPC installation. Guess you can get encrpted string, enter the string to the server manager(there is a feature to change the password of SysAdmin, Admin and User), you can make synchronized the password I think.

Hope this helps,

Regards,
