Work Center (PM) - Activity Type (CO); how to assign more than one

Dear Forum/Experts

1- Can it be assigned more than 1 activity (Act Type Int. Proc. - PAD011-LARN1) in the Costing folder on the Work Center (CR02); how?

2 u2013 in the same screen (costing folder - on the Work center), when and how do you use the u2018Alt. activity descry.u2019 (RC68A-ACTXKT)

Hi,

In Activities Overview, you can assign different Activity types for one work center.

In maintenance order, activity type will be blank as there are more than one. You have to select the activity type.

And u2018Alt. activity descry.u2019 (RC68A-ACTXKT) fields to mention the activity short description. Based on Standard Value Key in Basic Data tab of work center, it is possible to bring the standard activity texts. Apart from that, you can go for Activity type text in Activity overview in the above mentioned field, so that you can include other activities as well.

Dear Friend,

Thanks v.m. for your interest and your answer.

We know that the act. types are associated with the cost center in CO (I've done that already); this means the Act. types are now appering in the WO or in the WO confirmation for seletion without any assignement in the Work Center (so far so good). My main question is: are both fields 'ActType.Proc.' (PAD011-LARN1) and 'Alt. activity descr.' (RC68A-ACTXKT) for the exact same thing ? Since all activities are appearing as we want in the WO and WO confirmation (only by the CCenter association in CO), shoud I expect some trouble later on (if I keep working like that - meaning just one act. in the 'AltType Int.Proc.' in the Work Center) ?! or is it OK not to change anything in the PM (in the Work Center) and keep it like that !

Hi,

'ActType.Proc.' (PAD011-LARN1) and 'Alt. activity descr.' (RC68A-ACTXKT) values are different.

In 'Alt. activity descr.' field, options will be selected from the drop down list. If you select Activity Type Text, then next column Activity Type will be enabled to select the Activities defined.

Activity Type & ActType.Proc are of same kind.

ActType.Proc will be used in case of single activity per work center.

Activity type in Activity overview block will be used in case of multiple activities per work center.

Whether you assigning single activity or multiple activities per work center, it wont be any problem.

For example, there is work center called Electricians. People under that category will do many activities like plumbing, drilling, etc.,

Even Activity based pricing will be different for each activity. But the cost centers can be single for electricians. In that case, if you define the Activities in overview block, only one work center definition will be enough. But correct activity should be selected in Maintenance Order.

Else you have to define the work center for each activity & assign the activity type in ActType.Proc field. In that case, based on the operation, correct work center should be selected.
