DIR authorization linked with Lab/office

How is authorization possible for DIR (create/change/display) linking it with Lab/office ?

Unfortunately,you cannot exercise control at Lab/office level.

However,you may explore the concept of 'Authorization Groups' (authorization object C_DRAW_BGR) in DMS to implement your requirement.Pls.search the forum for improved understanding of this concept.

Thanks for the reply.

We are creating DIRs and are segregrating them based on Lab/Office i.e diff departments for us ,all using the diff document types. If an authorization object could be available to restrict person from one lab office to update/modify/delete original of another Lab /office user-id.

e.g in PM implementation we have done the same using Planner Groups.

Thats the point am trying to make.There is no authorization object available for Labs/Offices.

As a alternative,you may maintain various departments as 'Authorization Groups' in DMS.This approach will meet your requriments.Look up [here|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/PLM/UsingAuthorizationGroupfieldin+DMS] for details.
