What is the difference between T512T and V_T512T?
I mean when we use V_ vs just the table name
Hi
Any table with V_ is only a full or a selected columns view of an original table.

A View is often a partial representation of the Table, but it sometimes also includes the description to one of the fields.
For example, table view V_512W_D is a partial view of table T512W, but it also includes the description of the WTs that are contained in table T512T.

if SAP allows you for the maintenance and modify then they provide view for it that is V_***** when they don't don't provide view for a table then most of the time table is open open for customer to maintain from tcode SM31 or SM30.

When you use transaction code SM31 to access the table, the system will tell you there's no such table if you provide T512T. If you then add V_ before T512T, the system recognizes it.
When you look in transports, you'll see the table name V_T512T at one level, then right below you'll see T512T.
SAP didn't do this with all of the tables for some reason. This new naming started with Release 47 or before.
