External number range for reservation

Hi all,

We are using BAPI_RESERVATION_CREATE. Despite maintaining external number ragnes in config I am getting the message NR752Please specify an internal number range. So number ranges set to external but the error indicates that the number range is internal.

There was an old thread on this, but the resolution was not clear.

Hi,

Unlike in other application within the SAP-system you can't really

create an external number range. All storage unit number ranges are

internal as far as the WM-application is concerned. If you define an

external storage unit number range it is considered to be the number

range of another warehouse.

Please refer to SAP note 14881:

"The "external" indicator in the number range definition is ignored. The

check is performed for all the number ranges defined.

The only external numbers that are accepted are those that do not appear

in a number range."
