Hello experts.

we have a problem to shutdown Oracle DB 10.2.0.4 installed on Win2008 and MSCS the problem that i cant take offline backup ,

the following error in BRtools version 46

BR0252E Function OpenService() failed for 'OracleServicePRD' at location BrOraSr

vControl-25

BR0253E errno 5: Access is denied.

BR0309E Shutdown of database instance PRD failed

please help

With which user you logged in?

Try to execute the offline backup statement directly (not from DB13) and let us know the result.

the problem is not just from inside DB13 it is also from the BRtools , and it happens every time i try to shutdown the DB , i did almost every possible solution .

Hi,

To take offline backup in MSCS cluster,you have to set some enviornment variables.
