On some queries, we used a 'dummy' row entry.. essentially a selection with no characteristics or key figures assigned to it. It creates a title in the row (or column), and then a blank entry in the associated data column. Bex 3.x allowed us to do this.
But Bex 7 does not allow it. I can't use a key figure or characteristic restriction that would return "0" records, because I want the associated data record to be null, not zero. And we don't suppress zeroes.
Short of creating a new characteristic in our info cubes that contains a blank string, are there any other options ?
Hi Charlie,
As I understand you need to populate a blank row with null characertistics and keyfigures. In BI 7 you can achieve this by adding a selection. You can remove the Selection Text and keep it blank. Then in the properties - Calculation tab of this selection - In the Local Calculations - for calculate results as - select "Hide" and for Calculate single values as - select "Hide". System will add an entire blank row.
You will get a warning message in QD, but you can just ignore it.
I hope this is what you need.
Good Luck.
Vikram
