BW 3.5 to BI 7.0 EHP2 Upgrade

Dear Colleagues,

We have to upgrade our BW 3.5 ABAP system to BI 7.0 EHP2 ABAP & JAVA system.

As per sap recommedation we are planning to have this system seperately and not has DUAL stack

We planned to upgrade BW 3.5 --> BI 7.0 EHP2 and then Install a new BI 7.0 EHP2 JAVA system and integrate both.

Is our strategy correct?

What are the steps to integrate BI 7.0 EHP2 java system with BI 7.0 EHP2 ABAP system ?

Hi,

Yes, you are steps are correct.

Please make sure that while you install BI Java system, then you should install BI usage type on the As Java system. After that you need to do single sign-on connection with BI ABAP system and then run BI Template installer on As Java system. You can find same in installation guide.

Please let me know when is right time to start the JAVA integration with ABAP

We are planning to do it after the Finalization phase of ABAP upgrade.

Hi,

You should do it after upgrade only. Install portal of same netweaver release as of your BW i.e. portal 702 release.
