The Web Dynpro application 'PageBuilder' has expired

Hello

We have a SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.01 and we are running Employee Self-Service in it.

We have a VPN channel setup between the clients network (where the SAP Portal and the SAP ERP HCM servers are located) and the network of a consulting company working in our project.

When ESS is tested in the client's network, everything is fine.

When ESS is tested in the consulting company's network, we get the following error message when executing a Portal page that contains a WD ABAP iView:

The Web Dynpro application 'PageBuilder' has expired

Any idea why this issue can happen in a network and not in the other?

Thanks in advance,

Jon

Hi Jon

Please check network connectivity with VPN and allowed access to the SAP Portal and Backend system IP addresss.

Make sure that IP address and host name maintained in the host file.

Hi Arun

The connectivity to the systems is fine: users can access the SAP Portal and SAP ERP HCM systems on the required ports and the navigation works for a while, but at some point the sessions gets broken and the above mentioned message is displayed from the SAP Portal.

Thanks for your support,

Jon

Hi Jon,

The Page builder problem is due to session

this will occur in 2 cases

1.when the session timeout

2.when you open 2 tabs and logout & login in one tab and trying to use the other tab

(In this case session will expire due to logout/login)

Solution is just to refresh the browser or just logout & login

Hi Pavan

Thanks for your help.

The issue was caused by a network device, that created different IP sessions, messing with the HTTP session management.

Best regards,

Jon
