Upgrade from Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit Broke Oracle Connection?

I successfully used Crystal Reports XI R1 on the 32 bit version of Windows 7 for several months. However, recently I was upgraded to the 64 bit version of W7 and now reports which connect natively to Oracle databases do not work. I get the following error.

"Failed to load database information.

Details: The database connector 'crdb_oracle.dll' could not be loaded."

Here are the steps I have taken to resolve this issue.

1. I uninstalled CRXI and reinstalled using Program Files rather than Program Files (x86).

2. I uninstalled and reinstalled back to Program Files (x86).

3. Then I installed Service Pack 4.

4. I verified that the file is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0\bin.

None of these things have worked and I'm sort of at my whit's end, here. I found a workaround suggesting that I change the data connections to ODBC but that would cause problems for other users.

Thanks in Advance,

Josh

Hi Josh,

CR XI is 32 bit only therefore it requires the 32 bit Oracle Client to be installed and configured.

Thank you
