craxddrt help

after installing crystal report 2008 the craxddrt.dll version 12 does not show in visual studio 2008 com tab and have created a report in cr2008 which is going to reference craxddrt 12 in vb.net application and also when i browse for the component,the studio recognize it as a file..i need help

In a nut shell, you can not use the craxDDrt.dll from CR 2008. You are not licensed to do this. Use the CR Assemblies for .NET. Or, if you have to use the RDC, use CR XI R2 - which is the last version of CR to support the RDC. You will still have to use craxDrt.dll, not craxDDrt.dll - unless you have obtained the license to use craxDDrt.dll in version CR XI R2.
