Unable to post Invoice

Hello all,

Here is history of the problem -

Purchase order was placed for a material and GR was done.

Since then profit center was changed. Invoice posting is not possible.

Error message is -

Profit center Pxxxxxx is locked for 31.05.2011

Can you guide what need to be done?

Hi,

Check the profit center master data in KE52 > Indicators tab whether it is locked.

HI,

I think you should check with FI if old profit center is blocked/locked. Ideally when you change the profit center, old profit center should still exists in system.

while changing Profit center for the Po,you should have nullified the stock as well as all the orders related to the material.So there is no question of reopening the PO.So what you can do just make a fresh PO and proceed for GR as well as MIRO.Now it will hit new profit center.

Hello Bijay,

If I can not generate fresh PO, what will happen in the following -

Option 1 -

Revert back to earlier Profit Center

Post the Invoice

Change to latest Profit Center

Option 2 -

Revert back to earlier Profit Center

Reverse the GR

Change to latest Profit Center

Post GR (will the system accept back dated GR? Will this create any complications?) to latest Profit Center

Post Invoice to latest Profit Center

Hi

Since the PO was created when the material master had the old profit center, your invoice will also happen in the old profit center, even though the Material master has the new profit center. The only issue is that your profit center is locked or inactive. You need to unlock it and post the invoice. Your issue will be resolved

Hello all,

Posting Invoice to old Profit Center is not option for me. Hence I have changed Profit Center to new Profit Center.

With this, Profit Center in Purchase Order and that in Material Master is same.

Will there be any problem in posting Invoice to new Profit Center?

What will be impact of GR posting done when Purchase Order was still with old Profit Center?
