transport sld objects using file transport

Dear Everyone,

I am trying to transport IR,ID and SLD objects from DEV to QAS using file transport.I got clear document to transport IR and ID objects.Can anyone please tell me how to transport SLD objects using file transport?

Thanks for u r quick replys.I got clear idea to transport sld objects also now.but last point using file transport shall i need to create business groups?is that mandatory?or simply exporting from source and importing into target is enough?

maintain different groups....one for DEV...one for QA....one for PROD

I agree with abhishek to maintain business groups for each system. It is easily maintainable then.

Hi Vinay,

Please follow the steps:

Please ensure that mapping between SLD Dev n QA is done by Basis, also the SWCV must be present in the target.

1.create a dummy changelist, by editing all the objects in IR/ID. You can edit the description, save and create changelist.

2.Rename the changelist to identify it.

3.Activate the changelist.

4. Go to tools>export design objects-> mode using FileTransfer>select Sw component version>Select objects from changelist.

5. It will generate one tpz file.

6.you can give the tpz file to Basis team to transport that to QA.

7. Once they are done, login to QA..Go to tools->import design objects by selecting your tpz file.

8.Repeat these steps for config also, note that the url for channels wont go..and u need to edit them manually in QA.

Hi,

You can transport SLD object via file transport also.
