NWDS EAR Deployment Error

Hi,

We h ave installed NW 7.1.1 (20). Then we have installed NWDS 7.0. After developing the JSP pages in DS, we created EAR file and try to deploy.

But when deploying the it showed error as "cannot determine sdm host (is empty). please configure your engine/sdm correctly !".

Then we searched in SDN and found that SDM should run. But cant able to find the SDM in usr/sap/.. directories. We tried with changing Msg server and port in NWDS -> windows->preferences-> SAP J2EE engine as remote host. Still the problem is not solved.

How to solve thsi? How to run SDM manually from RUN mode?

Hi,

John is correct, you need to use NWDS CE 711 which you can download from here:

https://nwds.sap.com/swdc/downloads/updates/netweaver/nwds/nw/711/

After installation you need to update the NWDS with "SAP content" using the the Update site mechanism.

For this after installation go in your NWDS menu to: Help -- Software and Updates -- Find and install...

Else you'll have only an "empty" IDE without SAP specific plugins.

you have to use an IDE which is compatible with your server.

your server is ce 7.11, your nwds should be nwds 7.11.
