SCM 7.0, Delete Obsolete combinations

Hi

In DP 7.0, there are 3 buttons under delete Obsolete CVCs in MC62. One is delete combination without master data, second, without Planning data, third is without MD and Planning data.

I have deleted some CVCs data in PB, and expected them showing under without planning data. still It shows NIL entries. Then I had created a new CVC without entering any data. I surely thought this time, it would show under without planning data. still it didnt show up. But its showing under without MD.

Even it does not show in 3rd option, without MD and Planning data.

Any guesses, why its not showing under without planning data, though no data is entered for the new CVC ?

Thanks

Hello Nithin,

I found the problem. I have missed a KF having some qty. I just overlooked it.

Extraction will bring 0 values though its blank in PB, as you rightly said. But for this txn, blank means no planning data. Once I erased that, I found those KFs under MC62.

Thanks

Hi Venkat,

This can be one of the cause. Please check in planning area for keyfigures you maintained the flag 'zero allowed'.If so system stores zero data in livecache. Deletion of combinations with option 'List Combinations without Planning data' determines all characteristic values combinations for which no planning data exists in liveCache. As there are zero values in livecache system doesn't delete this CVC as values exists in livecache.

If zero allowed is not marked then please implement the note 1576849 and re-test your issue.

Thanks and Regards,

Nithin.

Hi Nitin,

Thanks for your suggestion. But I have a concern, when there is no data means, how LiveCache will take it as Zero value ? We know that there is a distinction between 0 and blank. So if there is a 0 value, its a value, but if its blank, livecache also should have blank value, but not zero value.

Is it not true for the purpose of obsolete CVCs transaction ? My PA setting allows all KFs to store 0.

Thanks

Hi Venkat,

I agree there should be distinction between zero and initial. But if zero is allowed, in livecache stored value will be zero itself. You can check this is by creating a datasource for your planning area in //sdp_extr and testing it in rsa3 transaction. According to me you should get "zero" values for those keyfigures upon extraction.

Anyways you can also test it by removing zero allowed option in planning area(//msdp_admin, right click PA, change keyfigure settings) and if it does not show even at that time then you need to implement the note which i have given.

Thanks and Regards,

Nithin.
