Can someone briefly define the difference between an organizational element (OE) and an organizational unit (OU)? I know that Company code, controlling area, plant etc are know as OU. I have also read that "The organizational units in SAP are the elements or structures representing business functions...".
Please define Organizational Element as opposed to Unit. Glossary and other areas of the site are not specific. Thanks, Tom
As a matter of fact, organizational elements and units refer to the same client, company code, business area, etc. But, when you are referring these individually then you'd refer as an element (ex: company code is an organizational element), and you refer an organizational unit from a hirerachial standpoint (ex: a company code is the smallest organizational unit in FI).
