Time-dependent characteristics and attributes

Hi guys,

how can I check if an characteristic and his attributes is time-dependent and what the changes are.

For example for Profit Center, Business Segment and Business Unit (Business Segment and Business Units are attributes in this case but they can also be a characteristic).

For May 2011 the combination (assignment) for Profit Center, Business Segment and Business Unit was different than for April 2011, March 2011 and so on.

Is it possible to get some overview how the assignment was for each month?

Hi,

A char is time-dep when it has attibutes flagged as time-dep in attibutes tab.

Infoobjects can be time-dependant only when they are used standalone and has time-dep attributes.

In your case Prof center is time-dep as it has time-dep attr on it. It could have different segment and unit assignments in diff periods.

Business segment could be time-dep if it has attrib on it which are time-dep. Those attributes might change with time.

Historical view how the assignment was for example in Feb 2011?

For a time-dep infoobject, Q table is created instead of the regular P table. It has valid-to date as key in the table (/BI0/QPROFIT_CTR for profit center). You can see the changes here.

Also when we run the query with time-dependant MD, we give key date. The query displays master data valid as on that date. If you give Feb 2011, the query retuns master data valid for that period.
