Asset is in -ve, so need to get back to Zero and stop further depreciation

Hi All,

We need help on the below Asset related issue.

Right now the NBV and the Accumulated depreciation value is in negative value and both the values are equal. But actually the NBV should be got to Zero, as the book value of the asset cannot be in negative and the asset should not be depreciated further.

Asset Capitalized on Description Acquis.val Accum.dep Book val

40009564 27/07/2009 XXXX 0 -23,173.64 -23,173.64

Please suggest the steps to get the NBV to Zero and stop depreciating ASAP.

Hi,

this is not problem at all.

You have to define this in the depreciation key in the "Base method"

-> Tr. AFAMA

> mark the Depreciation key an press "Assignment of Calculation Methods"

-> click at "base method"

Here you see: "Treatment of end of depreciation"

and

"Dep.below NBValue zero"

(=Calculation of depreciation below net book value zero)

Here, say "NO"
