We want to use EM to track changes to sales orders and use this data for detailed analytics on the process. One of the requirements is that we capture both the old and new values for each change. We were thinking about using the "Change Documents" functionality for this but weren't sure if this data can easily be extracted to the BW system.
The alternative is to just configure "old" and "new" parameters for each change and append each change. This method makes it easy to get the data to BW but seems like an inefficient solution.
Any thoughts on this? Has anyone used the "Change Documents" and moved this data to BW?
Steve,
I have used the parameter option and steered away from the change document option because I think that solution seems to be the more inefficient approach. You'd have to extract CDHDR and CDPOS to BW to interogate it otherwise you'd have to selectively send the change documents to BW which entails more processing power to do the distinction of what you want to extract from what you don't.
