Hi ;

1) Is there a valid comprehensive Guide to install Integration Kit , SETUP SSO between SAP BW and Business Object

2) if we have an AD authentication turned on for windows - bobj users , can we still use that authentication for users when accessing CRYSTAL REPORTS based on ( sap bw data ) ,, if so how do we do that

Thanks

If you are using Ad to access Business Objects and then want the Ad users to refresh SAP you will need SNC server trust as Ingo mentioned. If you are using sapcrypto as most of our customers are then it is in the admin guide or you can also follow KB 1500150 which mentiones the prerequisites, points to current white papers, and includes troubleshooting information.

Hi Tim ;

Thanks for the updates .

There's 2 different things here :

1- I agree with you that AD and SAP SSO , need a server trust built , moslty using SNC in the server side .

2- There is a missed files ( Transport files ) from the FP 3.1 mentioned in the sap NOTE mentioned above.

Hi guys,

the type of "trust" depends on what the scenario here is.

Are you looking for a web based authentication ? are you looking for a thick client authentication ?

and those parts also drive which SNC libraries / vendor is needed

for the End users all what they need is a " Thin " web based authentication

for the developers and administrators its a "Thick" client .

However i would like to apply 1 by one , users " Thin " web based authentication first

Hi,

you SAP system can only handle one set of SNC libraries so if the goal is to have Thin and Thick Client support then you need to look for a SNC software that does support both scenarios.

The mentioned SAP Crytpo Lib only does support web based scenarios as it is focusing on server trust.

You can look at software available by other vendors for example TFS, SECUDE, ...

Hi Ingo ;

Thanks for the reply

However what i saw in sap.help , was a integration documents , doesnt even mention the AD

SNC - SAP side setup

its very very basic ,, you have to look in many places to gather information needed

is there a comprehensive link you would recommend

Hi,

standard SAP Authentication configuration are in the Installation Guides

Server Side trust is part of the Installation Guide as well

Something like a Windows AD configuration with SAP credentials really depends on the SNC software that you are using - RSA, SECUDE, TFS, ... - and therefore it goes back to the product documentation of those vendors.

Transport file missing from the FP 3.1

Acoording to SAP NOTE : 1484086

Explicitly saying "you are simply using the specified transport files from the FixPack 3.1 package - not installing FixPack 3.1."

installed FIXPACK 3.1 FROM SAP website and it doesnt have any transports

Neither K900693.r21 and R900693.r21 ??

Did anyone every tried that ?
