1. Positive Time (+ve Time) ? Positive time is plays the total role of workflow. All the processes related to time are automatically gets executed in the background. E.g., in our case it is done only partially to validate the attendance as per punches and other documents with shift timing and generate absence automatically in case of any discrepancy.

2. Negative Time (-ve Time) ? Where the all time related activities like validation of the attendance, posting of absence for wage deduction etc are done manually. It has less level of integration among the different components of time management.

Negative Time Recording:

1. Records time deviations to Planned Working Time

2. Valid deviations include: Absences, Special Absences, On Call Duty, Overtime, Substitutions, Time off in lieu

3. Deviations are manually entered according to type & duration.

Positive Time Recording:

1. Records the attendance time of the employee

2. Records the deviation times of the employee

3. Valid attendances include: Training, Business Trips, Seminars, Overtime.

4. Attendances & deviations can be entered either:

- Front end system

- Manually.

Positive Time Management we have two types of recordings:

1. With Clock times - Complete time recording is captured

2. With out Clock times - Only Number of hourse worked is captured

Negetive time Management:

1. No clock times and assumed employee is working unless and until his or her absences are entered.

Schemas used

TM00, TM04, TM02, TM01, TQTA these are the standard SAP Time evaluation schemas to valuate the employees attendance/absences in time management, and send the time data to payroll.

TM00: evaluates the time data of employees that has been recorded at Time Recording System, comprises the actual working times entered as clock times and full day records, it's mean positive time management. we have to download the time events(entries) from time recording machine, and we need to upload into SAP R/3. and time management status is "1".

TM01: evaluates the time data of employees for whom only exceptions to the Work Schedule are recorded.(entered as clock times and full day records to record only exceptions)

TM02: evaluates the time data of external employees and their hours recorded. mean will generate the for the directors, sales persons, because of they are always going to outside, they could not attend in office, for them we have to use TM02 and maintaining the attendance infotype(2002), it will capture the data from attendance infotype. TMS is "8"

TM04: evaluates the time data of employees as per daily work schdule. the data will read the work schedule. TMS is "9" or "1", with this schema we can generate the positive and negative time mgt.

and onemore schema is TQTA ; it will generate the only absence quotas

and extra program is RPTQTA00.

Hi Mrudula,

Positive Time records all the deviations and actual timings.

Negative Time records only deviations. May be through manual entry.

I think it's clear.

Hi

In simple terminology

Positive time mgmnt is considering every movement of the employee.

Negative time mgmnt is considering the absenses of the employee.

Schemas are inbuilt and can be modified according to the requirement of the client.
