COA Issue

Hi,

We are facing a new issue with CoA functionality when a product is manufactured in a plant and packaged in another: The only scenario that works to print a CoA is where the SAP product manufacturing plant is also releasing the product (full QS inspection plan in the manufacturing plant). For some products one plant is manufacturing, but the analysis and the release are done in other (which also does the packaging). This was not envisionned and the system cannot print a CoA in that case

Please suggest.

Regards

Sandip

If you are batch managed you can print the batch values and that should work if you are at the material or client level and it can work at the plant level depending on your processes.

I'm going to guess however that you are reporting your results from the inspection lot. In this case the system as delivered by SAP is expecting to find the inspection lot in the same plant as the delivery. Hence no results, which is what you are seeing. I'm guessing that the error is something like no inspection lot found in plant xxxx. But you didn't mention any actual error messages.

There are options called "results Origin" and "spec origin", that you select in the certificate profile. Behind each choice is a function module. You can create new choices with new function modules in configuration. Create a FM that is a copy of the standard one you use but modify it to look across plants for the inspection lot.

That should resolve the issue. DO NOT modify the standard SAP COA program.
