Complete SC creates PR and incomplete SC creates PO!!

Hi experts,

We are on SRM 7.0, ECC 6.0 (classic scenario).

1. I created a free text SC, assigned a supplier from the supplier list and ordered this SC. The manager then approved this SC. This created a PR in ECC.

2. On the other hand I created a free text SC, did not assign a supplier and ordered this SC. The manager then approved this SC. This SC was routed to SOCO from where the Purchaser assigned a supplier and this created a PO in ECC.

My SPRO setting is "PO if item data complete, else PR". I always want a PO to be created in ECC.

Why is the system trying to create a PR for a SC which is complete in all respect. (first scenario)

Regards

Hello,

There is a condition to create PO directly from SC. That is, Incomplete SC will be converted to PR always.

In complete means, 1)Vendor is not assigned, 2) There is no price assigned. In this case PR will be created always.

If the SC is having complete information, then check the SPRO settings. For the particular Product category wats the follow-on document mentioned.
