Need answers for the following questions

Hi,

Yesterday, I had an interview . I was asked the following questions.

Can anyone provide answers for these questions?

1.Can we create cascade prompts in Desktop Intelligence?

2 .We generated report using Free Hand Sql in Desktop Intelligence, when we run this report in Deski it worked fine, but when we tried to run this report on server it didn't work. What was the reason?

3.What is the difference between Universe context and Report context?

Hi,

Please find my answers.

1.yes- In deski we can create cascading of prompts using Cascading of LOV's. That again depends on hierarchies we create in universe.

2. Assuming server means back end DB, sql may run for no. of reasons like

1. In BO for free hand SQL we can @prompt function that won't be supported in back end DB.

2.For BO generally we will use Generic User which have access to all tables in backend DB and when same query runs at DB that user may not have all the accesses.

3.Universe Context: Defines the how the query will be passed b/w no. of tables

Report Context: It is useful how we can add/remove data dimensions to the existing data block.
