Excisable stock with service technicians

Hi all,

Our company hand over excisable material to the service technicians. They repair the home appliances and send the sale bill to the head office.

We have configured the service technicians as storage locations in the Plant. We have only one plant.

Is there any special consideration required for the excise ?

Should we use stock transport order or just stock transfer (one step)?

Any configuration change required?

Should we capture any excise in this case?? If yes .. How??

Hi,

As per your input you have only one Plant

STO applicable from storage location to storage location but it will not have the Excise duty tab as the material is in same location in this case you can avail any Excise duty.

And the fore most important is that you should have Excise registration No, then only you can avail Excise benift.

To get this you should require manufacturing plant with production activity, means in put & out put material.

Then you can config all necessary setting for Excise.

so what is the excise procedure to handle the excisable goods with the service technitians..

i have some question to you please clear it befor guiding you

1) you have create service techanicians as storage locationin plant

then when you hand over excisable material to techanicians.techanicians work at your company in plant?

or send to techanician place out side plant?

If its within compant and plant then do STO one step between plant and no need to handl excise procedure

If you send material to outside you plant,then do subcontracting process with excisable bills

thanks for the reply

the service technitians are all over the state.. for the service of our product.. every month we handle them the spare parts.. these parts are free replaced if within warranty.. and sold if ouside warranty..

month end they bring the bills together and is to be entered in the system..

pls solve this problem..

Hi

You can handle this scenario in the following way.

You have created your technicians as storage locations ( though not recommended bcoz you cant go on creating n number of storage locations) but still .....

You can take a printout of MB1B(311) on company letter head mentionaing that the material is intended for personal use

( authorised by the Finance Dept) which the technician can carry with him.

And what ever material is sold/replaced/damaged by the technician you can book that in the system respectively.

  • Instead of creating n number of storage location you can create a single or area wise collective location and while doing MB1B you can enter the name/code of technician in the text field and track same using MB51

    • Lets wait for some other inputs as well
