hi
for me few doubhts are in BI data source Level ,
In BI Data source we have Direct access types.
In that three different direct access type are there mentioned below
*D-not supported
*1-supported (without preaggregation)
*2-supported (with preaggregation)
*D-notsupported means it wont support direct access
Remaining two what is that preaggregation and without preaggregation .
Preaggregation meas direct access could be used for reconcillation of datasource with selection they have explained I couldnt get the exact meaning what they are telling....
table BWOM2_TIMEST--is having the entry of datasource name which wont support direct acces. In Case of 0_FI_GL_10 its not having any entry in BWOM2_TIMEST because it supports direct acces so its respective table is capturing the time stamp......why its getting diffferent from datasource to datasource like some supports direct acces and some wont support direct access .......what is happening in back end really confused with this ....
Searched for documents I couldnt find so please share some documents regarding to this if you have
Hi,
Well as we first start to crawl and then walk and then run...SAP datasources evolve in a similar way..
Initially there were no virtual providers but with latest releases, virtual provider is made available which enables us to fetch real time data from the sources. Direct access corresponds to the availability of virtual providers meaning that if there is a virtual cube in the data flow, the corresponding datasources will support direct access.
Coming to the first question..preaggregation and w/o preaggregation:
As the access is direct meaning that records are fetched from database tables directly. The database table contains many records for a combination of GL document and GL account. If the datasource can aggregate the amounts (KPIs) then the preaggregation before it send data to BW will be there.
Similarity if the datasource cannot aggregate data and can only send raw data from tables, the pre-aggregation is not possible.
Hope it clarifies the concept to some extent..
