Connecting handheld device with SAP

Hi All

We have a requirement to pull data from a Handheld device . Currently they are scanning a barcode using a Handheld device.

Now , we want to fecth the scanned data from the handheld device to SAP. Client don't want to replace Handheld device.

How to fecth data from Handheld device to SAP?

What are the steps to be followed?

Kindly give us any suggestions.
