Chnage a service like UME can I recycle service without recycle instance

I have made changes to UME service on java and I was wondering if I can simply stop and start service and avoid recycling of the entire instance.

I am trying to avoid stopping entire system to make the change active.

Dear Jexun ,

Hope you are doing good.

UME is a core service, unless a server restart occurs, the changes wil not take effect. You can try to restart the UME services from Visual admin. Just give t a try, but most likely it will not work.

Please login to Visual administrator:

-> goto /usr/sap/<SID>/JC<nr>/j2ee/admin/go.bat

-> goto Server->services->deploy->(in runtime)-> deploy service

->Server-> <..> and restart the ume_wdumeadmin and other UME services.
