Hi,
In one of the thread, I have been recommended to create a new build and do the changes in that build and publish. I wanted to know if there are any limitation how many builds can be created and what is the advantage of it.
Any recommendation on build? Is there document where we read about the build.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Sagar
I think you are referring to the builds in the Admin Console, not new application builds from SAP/Nakisa. If so ...
I always take a copy of the standard build before starting any configuration. This gives me a point of reference to the standard.
I also make a habit of doing the minimal config in my first build (connection strings, root id) to get the "out of the box" build working.
Then before doing any further config, I'd "save as" another build.
This way, if you have an issue and you wonder if it is a product bug or config bug then you can load the "out of the box" build to validate it (and document for OSS). Avoids confusion with support if you can definitely replicate on the "out of the box" build.
Then, as I'm working I'll create new builds at good breakpoints in my work. i.e. I might finish configuring new views and create an new builds using "save as" again. Gives me a checkpoint to go back to, if every needed.
Hope that helps,
Stephen

Hi Sagar,
They probably suggested you to upgrade to the latest build.
This will have the latest bug fixes.
Nakisa creates new builds regularily which contain fixes since the previous build. A build is an accumulation of all fixes.
This is instead of having to wait until the next Support Pack. Kinda like notes.
If you are implementing the latest build in a system you would be overwriting the previous build number.
See below note for more details on what would be required.
1584574 - FAQ: How to implement the latest build for Nakisa
If you would like the latest build, create a support ticket and I'll give it to you.
Hope this helps,
Kind Regards,
Matthew
