Data clean after system copy

We've got 15T production system. We need build a new DEV environment, the requirement is as follow:

1) Just need ABAP & Configuration. How can we realise it? TDMS Shell Clone is OK? Or can we make a system copy then delete the client ? Anybody got experience for 15T client deletion?

2) We still need some master data, which one is the best method? SAP MDM, TDMS, or something else?

15T is huge data so you definately need a tool to get the Master data on your dev System. TDMS is a good option on your Scenario or any third party tool you can use. But i would say TDMS is good as compare to others as it is SAP Products and easy to work on.

With a 15 Terabyte database you'll need to check your options, a system copy/client deletion could take days and you will probably not end with what you were looking for. If you can avail of TDMS and strip the system and take what you need you'll be much better off.

Also remember that refreshing/replacing your DEV system is not strait forward you need to consider that you need to retain version management history in between other things.

Thanks. I am looking for TDMS option.

Version DB can be exported/imported. That is not a question.
