Archive Course/Qual Group

Hi,

A customer is wanting to create an "Archive" L (Course Group) and an "Archive" QK (Qual Group).

When a qualification or course type is no longer needed, they will move the object into the Archive Group.

The reason being is that they don't want to delimit the object because there is certain relationships they want to remain current.

ie. If you delimit a qualification, all the B032 relationships (fulfilled by) will be delimited on the same date. My customer wants these B032 relationships to remain current as they still hold this qualification (just because the qualification is no longer available, it doesnt mean the person can't hold it). This make sense?

Is the L and QK Archive group a viable solution? Is there any risks/issues you can see with this type of setup?

Are there any other solutions to achieve what the customer is after?

Thanks

Shaun

Thanks Srinivas. It seems like this solution will suit our requirements.

We don't want to historise objects. The issue is that all relationships in infotype 1001 automatically delimit when you delimit the object. We want the object delimited but NOT the relationships. Hence, the Archive group appears to be our only option.

Hi

If you want to keep the objects records for reporting only then delimit the Objects for archiving and mark the records with these objects with history flag.

Marking the records with history flag will let the record being not modifible but allows the record to be fetched in the reports required.

Have you considered the reporting-aspect? What kind of reports do you run today which are based on these objects, how exactly will the output of those reports be affected (if any)? Now extrapolate this to all other receiver systems such as biw ... and do an analysis.

Except for the above, I do not see any problem with your approach.
