I am using the Excel interace to retrieve data from BPC. Under the Measures dimension, I see Periodic, QTD and YTD only. How can I pull SIGNEDDATA via Excel? Thank you in advance.

We are running BPC 7.5, Microsoft Version.

Hi Raymond,

You can create custom measures.

Here is the URL.

http://sapbpctutorials.blogspot.com/2011/04/rolling-12-custom-measure-in-bpc-7x.html

You don't need to put complex formula.

Just put measures.signeddata instead of complex IIF statement

I hope it will help you.

Hi James, thank you for your suggestion. I will try it out.

Besides the BPC Excel interface, I connected other OLAP reporting tools to BPC, and they can report on SIGNEDDATA directly, without any special set-up. So apparently SIGNEDDATA is readily available there, but is hidden by the Excel Interface. Does any one know why it is being hidden? Is there any simple trick in unhiding it?

The other OLAP reporting tools I tried are (1) Voyager via its BPC connection and (2) Strategy Companion Analyzer, with direct connection to Analysis Server.

Raymond,

That's hidden by design because Finance user doesn't want to see those value.

Because those values might have reversed sign based on the Account type.

I hope it might be an answer for you.
