Portal Content Backup using PCD Inspector

Can anyone please suggest how to take portal content backup using PCD Inspector.

Why do you want to use the PCD Inspector for backing up the portal content? Do you just want to backup the PCD content - iViews, folders, worksets, roles, etc - or also KM, Portal Applications, Security Zones, portal configuration (VA, Config Tool, etc)? SAP offers some guidelines on SAP Help on how to perform a backup of the portal.

Besides the tools and links already mentioned, you can also backup + restore content with the XML transport tool (for PCD & KM content):

Dear SK,

Hope you are doing good.

You do not need the pcd inspector for this. Just export the content, save it and then import.

The PCD inspector can be used to copy the PCD content of one folder to another folder.

You may choose to copy the top level folder under which you might have all your PCD content.

However, if you want to backup to a file system, then the best option is to use the Export functionality in the portal transport mechanism.
