Hi guys
I've searched for a long time to try to find a solution for my case, but I failed. Could you please give me some advices?
I'm in ECC6, and I have two general ledgers (group ledger and local one).
I have 3 depreciaiton areas:
area 01 posts depreciation value on the group ledger (real posting)
area 02 posts depreciation value on the local ledger (real posting)
area 03 posts on the local ledger the difference of depreciation value between 01 and 02 while retirement. (real posting)
I have different depreciation keys between area 01 and 02 for some assets.
The case is that:
Acqusition value ok on both ledgers
Deprecaition value ok on both ledgers
While retirement, normally a posting will be generated on both ledgers ( this is ok)
Another posting which carries the difference of depreciation value between area 01 and 02 should be posted on local ledger. but obviously SAP considers the deprecaition value on 02 is zero, and it posts the difference ( which means depreciaion value on area 01 - 0).
I suppose that the pb is due to the different depreciation keys used on area 01 and 02. because I did a test on using the same depreciaion key, SAP calculates correctly the difference.
So, please help me.
Thanks 1000 fois.
Bingjie
thanks.
but It can not resolve my problem. Because this customizing has been correctly done.

Please review if your configuration is as explained below as below:
Area 01 should be the the only area posting its values "online" (this means
that APC values will be updated in the G/L directly when posting to an asset).
It is a technical matter that this "Online"- posting will always be done to ALL(!)
ledgers that are defined in the company code. So whatever Ledger group you
assign to depreciation area 01, this will not be considered by any APC value
posting, APC transactions (as well as write-ups) will always be posted in ANY
ledger group in G/L with the values from area 01.
If you then want to setup a scenario in Fixed Asset Accounting, where
you post different valuations (for example local GAAP / IFRS) to a different ledger
group in G/L for parallel valuation, then you have to use (in total) 3
depreciation areas in the following way. For each additional "valuation"
for which you have additional ledgers defined in G/L, and for which you
want to get different values as those posted in area 01, you need also
two additional depreciation areas (1 real and 1 derived area) in
asset accounting.
So a typical dep.area setting for a parallel ledger is like:
.................Real........Posting to G/L........Ledger
Area 01.......X...................1 ...................0L
Area XX.......X...................3 ...................XX (your ledger code)
Area YY...........................6 ...................XX (your ledger code)
Acquisition/transf/retirement postings in area 01 go to all ledgers
independently of your setting in OADB. And, if any difference occurs
between area 01 an area XX this is posted trough the derived area YY
(posting indicator 6).

Thaiane

Hi thank you very much for your reply. But maybe I didn't well explain my case.
Here it is:
e.g.
Different depr keys on the area 01 and 02.
Generally It SHOULD BE:
Acqusition value: 1000 EUR -> posts on group and local ledger
Depr value: 300 EUR-> posts on group ledger 400 EUR-> posts on local ledger
Retirement (scrapping for example):
700EUR (1000-300) -> posts on both ledger
100EUR (300-400) -> posts on local ledger
Now SAP calculates the retirement in this way:
700EUR (1000-300) -> posts on both ledger
300EUR (300-0) -> posts on local ledger (which is not OK)
Is it more clear?
Thanks.

I don't think that I need run ASKB. Because I did in the customizing:
Asset accounting - Integration with the general ledger - Post APC values periodically to the general ledger -Specify document type for periodic posting ofr asset values, here I precise the doc type.
And for my area 03 I did:
6 Area posts only APC Directly
Hi Bengjie,
I understand that system is behaving correctly. As far as Asset accounting goes it is showing correct value in area 02 but system has to post the difference values in local ledger which system is doing. I don't see any issue here, if you don't want to show the values in local ledger, may be you can define a separate set of GL and assign in the derived depreciation area (i.e. 03).
Hope this helps.
Thanks & regards,
