Dear Team,

We are running ECC6 EHP4 on vmware.

OS RHEL 5.4

DB MAXDB 7.7.04 build 28

We are facing one issue related to RAM High utilization in ECC 6 EPH4 system.

earlier we had 8GB RAM after this issue upgraded to 16 GB.But the issue still persist.

Our system works fines. After 30-45 mins RAM usage goes at peak.Due to which we face performance issue and due to which we are not even able to login in the SAP system.

As checked from sm37,sm66 no sap process is running than also its RAM usage is going at high.

We are not able to see any process in top at OS level that is consuming to much RAM.

Please advice .

Regards,

Sahil

Sahil,

maybe SAP note [1382721|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1382721] helps?

Best, Hannes

Hi All,

Sorry for the late reply.

AS we are running ECC on VMWARE. We were using vitual RAM instead of reserved RAM (Physical RAM).Refer SAP Note 1122388.

Once VM Team fixed from virtual to physcial RAM issue got resolved.

Hi,

Can you please paste the output of

ps -auxf | sort -nr -k 4

lets first see what process are occupying the highest percentage of ram.Thanks.

Hi,

Are you sure that high memory utilization is from SAP or any other process ? just check in ST06 for available and free memory after that compare the value in ST03N. Also let us know the output from #free -m at os level.

Thanks,

Saleem

Are you running any backups in that interval? Are archive logs written?

No backup's are running that time ...when we observed the issue.

Álso no automatic log backups?

Where exactly do you see that the "RAM is going peak"?
