Hi gurus,
We have 2 hosts which has been alloted for SAP ECC 6.0 installation. Where
in on one host we have to install Database Instance which is oracle 11g R2 and other host we have
to install SAP Central Instance as os as RHEL5.5
I bit confused in DVD upload, SAP File Systems, Oracle File Systems which
and Initial SAPInst startup.
I would appreciate if anyone can help me in clarifying the below situation.
So, that I can go ahead with installation whichh may not landup in issues in
middle.
Host1 u2013 We are going to install Oracle Instance here
Host2 u2013 We are going install SAP CI Here
I have few clarifications
Where I need to upload my DVDs, in Host1 or Host2?
Do I need to have only Oracle File Systems on Host1 or both?
Do I need to have only SAP File Systems on Host2 or both?
From where I need to start my installation Host1 or Host2?
In my previous experience I had installed everything on one Host.
I am confused to do the above activities.
Thanks in Advance.
Have you read the Installation guide. It will be Distributed Installation what you are refering now. Please read the guide and after reading the guide if you have any question you can post here.

Hi,
I have already read the installation guide.
I'm confused from where i have to boot the CD/DVD?
Is it from the host1 or it'll be from host2?
I know that host1 and host2 will be connected through NFS.
If I'm right please let me know.
And p[lease let me know the installation process?
Thanks in advance.

You have to mount all the media on file system on both hosts
I know that host1 and host2 will be connected through NFS.
/sapmnt you have to mount on both hosts
And p[lease let me know the installation process?
1. Install the JDK
2. Start the Installation from your CI and install the SCS services
3. Start the Installation from DB and install the Database
4. Start the installtion again from CI and install the CI Services on that machine.
