How to do personalization and customization

Can any one post any document how we can do customization and personalization?.iam not able to to do by using ctrlaltdel+p by using sap-wd-config= X.Pls help me

Bottom line I would go for component-configuration and application-configuration rather than sap-config-mode=x because it's the most consistent possibility and is valid system-wide, not only client-wide.

Aside from this: Can you tell us what application exactly you are trying to personalize? For some applications, like nasty POWLs, it sometimes isn't as easy as thought.

Edit: I didn't realize you don't use the right parameter. It should be sap-config-mode=X for client-wide personalization.
