7.5 - Excel add on does not load action pane/current view

Hi experts,

My Excel client for BPC NW 7.5 is giving me head aches.

When I am past the log on screen I get the following error message:

Object variable or With block variable not set

Logon failed

Then however, part of BPC does load (ie I get eTools, ePublish, eSubmit and eAnalyze), I can even open up reports and input schedules OK.

But it does not load the action pane or the current view, and also does not load the log on/log off button.

I know there are a lot of posts where people had the same error message and solved it by removing BPC from their disabled items in Excel. In my case BPC is not in the disabled items.

I have tried uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling a number of times.

I even installed BPC NW 7.0 succussfully and can run the Excel client without any issues.

I also looked through all Excel add in options and I can't really see anything wrong there.

Any tips are appreciated

Thanks

Sabine

Hi Sabine,

You would continue to see this message "Object variable not set "in BPC 7.5 .

Action Pane issue is fixed by applying SP7 on 7.5 and in case if you still see the above error follow the below steps.

1. Open your normal Excel.

2. Check for Planning and Consolidation tab on the top ribbon.

3. I assume this wouldn't be available for you.

4. If this is not present, open the Excel Options

5. Click on Add-Ins and check the Active Application Add-ins

6. Is Planning and consolidation present in it?

7. If not, select "Disabled Add-ins" in the drop down below besides "Manage".

8. Click "GO"

9. Select the Planning and Consolidation add-in from disabled add-ins and "Enable" it.

10. Check once again if this add-in is prersent in "Active" add-ins .

11. Now close and re-open excel

12. The Tab should be present now (Planning and Consolidation)
