NW IDM 7.1 - password synchrinization

Hi,

We have installed NW IDM 7.1 ( patch 05) and have successfully implemented the password self service for IDM UI ( UME) .

I now need to know how can i extend this to use the password enetred in the link http://<host name>:port:nwidm/pwdreset to provison to all other target SPA systems connectedd to IDM ? Is there any ow to guide or steps availbale to do this ?

Can we give use an option to choose an one of the target system in case user doesn't want to reset the password in all systems

Well the documenation pretty much explains it all from the standpoint of setting up tasks to populate the MX_AUTHQ attributes and how to log in anonymously to reset your password.

As far as affected systems goes, that's up to how you would like to set up your workflow. The Provisioning framework that comes with IDM has tasks to change passwords in ABAP and JAVA systems. So you just need to decide which passwords should be associated with the IDM/Portal password.

Does this mean that the password gahtered for IDM UI thru self-service can be used ( MX_PASSWORD) and pass it on to individiual target systems or is there any standard sync job provided along with provisioning framework for this ?

Can I configure a new task that allows users to select one or all systems in which they need their new password to be provisioned ?

@ Chetan : I followed the steps given in the Password Self Service guide and it works fine. I am authtecation against the answers to the questions previsouly resgistered.

Yes i did complete the PSS config according to the guide and it works fine, i missed out at the part of configuring the Provisioning framework and connect the target systems, will try to do that.

your quetion on " task that allows users to select one or all systems " - i can only say that it can be done according to the SAP presentation we have seen, not sure how to achieve it .

Matt/Vikas - Is there a specific sap guide which gives config steps for the Provisioning framework to change passwords in ABAP/portal ?

I am also in the initial stage of implementing PSS for IDM 7.1, also looking for the same answers as you are.

Can you tell me when you set the password in http://<host name>:port:nwidm/pwdreset for user, did it reset the password for that user in UME ?

I have implemented password reset task per the document but when i set a new password in http://<host name>:port:nwidm/pwdreset it says password set but actually it does not reset it, can you tell me if it works for u ?
