hi,

I think NW connection means "NetWeaver BW Connection".

You can publish SWF file to BI Launchapd.

Go to Dashboard Design. File -> Export -> Flash (SWF). Specify a local folder.

Now go to BI launchpad and select your Folder where you want SWF file to be present.

Documents -> New -> local Document (Browse from local folder) -> Add

Now you will be able to see the SWF file in folder.

Hi Alexander,

Is there a reason you think this might not work? I would expect that it would certainly work, simply by publishing the swf to the repository in the same way you would in 3.1 (note that the swf and the xlf are stored in a single object).

Have you tried?

Hi David !

I find this document FAQ about Xcelsius and SAP NetWeaver BI Connection

http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/FAQaboutXcelsiusandSAPNetWeaverBI+Connection

Portal Integration

Can the Xcelsius dashboard be displayed on BOE InfoView?

Not as a SWF file like with the QaaWS or Live Office connectivity because it requires BEx Web Runtime. However you can use URL objects and use the BEx Web Runtime URL. The user will get prompted for his NW EP credentials though.

This document about 3.1 version. In 4.0 and later i still cannot simply publish my swf file with NW connection to BOE ?

Thanks!

Ah OK I see,

Sorry I don't know if this has changed, I've not used BICS before.

Hi Alex,

You can publish your dashboards to BOE as a SWF. but they cannot fetch data from SAP.

So take the URL that you get in your address bar, when you launch a dashboard from xcelsius.

create URL object in BOE with that URL. But it is just providing a link to EP.

Do we have a better way of savig Dashboard in SAP BOBJ 4.0 version?

The disadvantage of using the URL is the SSO.

Is there a workearound???

Also, does it propmt for SSO every time the users changes the selection on Dashboard?

(or)

is it just one time before the dashboard is launched?
