What is the difference between service notification(t code IW 51_S1) And normal notification _Q1

For example..

A company produces and sells the equipment like as computer, construction equipment, engine.

The quality department controls product quality through procurement, production, delivery in plant.

They use the quality notification to control quality issue of material.

Also the maintenance department controls assets in plant.

They use the maintenance notification to control malfunction of asset.

When product is produced, each product has serial number (=equipment number).

After sales a customer can make a service request with warranty.

The service department use the service notification to control service for product.

Therefore the service notification has the technical object (equipment) as reference object and relates with the service order, sales order.

Service Notification is part of PM (plant maintainance ) notification whereas Q1 etc are basic Quality Notification of QM

PM service notifications:

The standard templates are only for the party requesting the service, in other words, they cover the functions for sending service notifications and for processing confirmations of service notifications. No functions are available for the recipient and the party who executes the service notification. You must implement these functions yourself as part of the implementation project.
