How to disable edit mode for users having edit access for only one folder
Here is the deal and sorry if this is missplaced in the forum topic.
We have interactive users being able to edit existing reports in public folders and save them in to private folders through WebI. This is determined by a group and the settings in BusinessObjects Enterprise Applications together with the folder rights in CMC.
So having this working perfectly in all folders, we wan't to limit the functionality to only run reports in one specific folder disabling all edit functionality. This is a timereport that the user can run, print, sign and hand over to HR.
So far I have been able to disable copy, move and save using the rules in the folder. However, the edit functionality is still there even if I explicitly denied edit object. The user can edit the report and even if they can not save it, they can edit it and make the print of the edited report.
So my questions are - First - Why can I edit the reports when this is disabled in the rules and secondly how can I achieve what I want?
