New productive system build from current productive system copy

Dear gurus

We have ERP landscape since last 3.5 years, supports rrhh services.

Due to some business reasons, we need to have separate productive

environment (PR1 and PR2). Also we will be having common development

environment which will support both production systems.

We want build new productive PR2 system by copying current productive

system PR1. System builds with system copy option is okay for non-prod.

SAP don´t recommend to build productive environment with system copy

but we wan´t to know if is fully supported by SAP. As per note 544509

it seems that is not recommended.

Another way maybe is fresh install of ECC bue we need to get repository

objects (ABAP/DDIC) from current productuve. This includes customer

developments, SAP notes, patches/SPAU adjustments etc etc.. Collecting

these objects in transport copies and import into the freshly installed

ERP system.

We need to know if is supported by sap create new productive system by

copying current productive system because for us is easier than fresh

install and get objets from PR1.

Many thanks

Marta

Hi Marta,

Theres many ways to ensure your data is publish in a safe manner, I think you should consider seeking advice from a developer and a security expert instead of looking into split your production landscape (which is not really a conventional option).

If you give us some info we might be able to make further suggestions

Thats my 2 cents

Regards

Juan
