A technical upgrade would mean using a superior version of SAP SRM with the new advantages it provides. This woul still have your old records of the the older SRM release. You will need to basically run a few upgrade reports to put the old release in sync with the new SRM release. so most of your standard configurations would remain intact.

A fresh implementation would definately mean total configuration of the system. Mapping your business requirement to the SRM functionality and also lot of data mapping.

Difference between Enhancement pack and support packs

Support Packages:-

SAP delivers various types of program corrections with Support Packages as part of the software maintenance. Support Packages automatically correct a whole range of errors by downloading corrections into the SAP System. Two categories of Support Packages are available: ABAP Support Packages and Java Support Packages.

Enhancement package(EHP):

Enhancement pack aims at delivering new functionality to your existing sofware components. So basicly SAP would deliver a EHP

when it intends to deliver a new functionality to the existing product.

What is the difference betwene SRM 7.0 and SRM 7.0.1??

SRM 7.0 is SRM Server 700.

SRM 7.01 is SRM 700 with EHP1 I am not sure what new functionality is being delivered as part of this EHP1. You might get details on this at service market place.

Thanks ...

But once there is a new EHP released for SRM 7.0 by SAP,do the EHP need to b eimported /applied just like support packs and then end-to-end testing needs to be carried out?

Hi,

SAP introduced its enhancement package strategy as a means to simplify the way customers manage and deploy new software functionality. Customers can electively implement these software innovations from SAP and activate the software upon business demand. As a result, customers can isolate the impact of software updates and bring new functionality online faster through shortened testing cycles.

Sapna
