Hi,

While creating a webi report on the top of BEx query, displaying the following error:

A database error occured. The database error text is: Unable to connect to SAP BW server SAP_CMINIT3 : rc=20 > Connect to SAP gateway failed Connect_PM GWHOST=<<bw server name>>, GWSERV=sapgw00, SYSNR=00 LOCATION CPIC (TCP/IP) on local host with Unicode ERROR partner <<bw server name>>, :3300' not reached TIME Mon May 16 13:52:23 201 RELEASE 710 COMPONENT NI (network interface) VERSION 39 RC -10 MODULE nixxi.cpp LINE 3143 DETAIL NiPConnect2: 131.228.132.192:3300 SYSTEM CALL connect ERRNO 10060 ERRNO TEXT WSAETIMEDOUT: Connection. (WIS 10901)

Please suggest how to resolve this issue.

Thanks in advance,

Priya.

The problem is ports are not open from server.

Now it is resolved.

Hi Priya,

Can you please explain this. I am facing the same issue on one of the servers on a cluster, the second server works fine. But I receive the error on the first server.

Thanks,

Piyush

That's a standard Windows Socket timeout error message.

Check that you can access the Bex query directly from the Webi server.

No, I am not able to access the BEx query directly from the Webi server

You'll need to raise it with your SAP Basis person then and explain the problem - the query may be broken for whatever reason.
