ok Mr. Kumar...I have faced the very similar issue few days back....

What Mr. Lucas is saying is absolutely correct..and you should catch your basis consultant to solve this.....

however, at you end to make it work....

you can check your system object properties for system that you are using to connect with R/3..

check its WAS host name value...

and check its ITS host name value..

if they both are same...then you will get this error that you are getting right now....

so to rectify it,

change the ITS host name value to FQDN of your server...

Do not forget to test the connection once done....

additionally if you dont know FQDN for your server...you can ask the same from basis consultant....

or else right click on your server "My computer" icon and goto properties....from there you can get it....

it will be in below format...

name.xxx.xx:8000....

check it and try then....if no success then revert back....

HI,

Hope you are doing good.

Please check the web GUI service under Its Sap GUI for HTML.

Also check with your BASIS department service should be configured properly in SIVF, SICF.

This should help resolve your issue.

Thanks and regards,

The password for your SAP ECC user ID has expired. Change your password and the pop-up will not show again.

Thank you for the reply, if the password is expired in ECC for the users id, other tasks in UWL also should not open, rite, some tasks are opening and some are not opening.

SSO logon not possible; invalid host name for issuing cookie

You can do this

(1) Set the security trace level in the ticket accepting system

======================================================

1. Call transaction SM50 (process list):

2. Process -> Trace -> Reset -> Workprocess Files

3. Key combination: F5 (select all), CTRL-Shift-F7 => Dialog box;

4. Set trace level=3 and ONLY(!) check the "Security" component;

If necessary, you must repeat these steps for each server (see

transaction SM51), unless you can use a specific server for

reproducing the error (for example, by excluding the load

distribution).

(2) Run the webdiagtool as per example 3.

(3) While the webdiagtool is running, please reproduce a failed attempt

to the backend

(4) When the SSO fails, wait a minute and then press return in the

diagtool console so that the resulting traces are picked up

Please check the configuration in portal, use fully qualified domain

name instead of host name.

Hi,

The problem might be in the host name format.

For SAP GUI for HTML to work, you need to have your Portal and Backend systems in the same domain and they should be addressed in FQDN form.

Make sure you login to portal via URL of the following format http://ep.corp.com, not by IP or short http://ep name.

Also make sure your Backend system is defined as backend.corp.com:80XX, not via IP or any other name.

EP packs logon ticket info into a tiny .sap file for SAPGUI for Windows, so FQDN do not matter.

For SAPGUI for HTML logon ticket is passed via browser cookie, so FQDN and other web security issues affect it.
