SAP BW 7.0 vs SAP BW 7.1

Hi everyone

I'm a bit confused over the installation of two different products. The confusion is either we should implement BW 7.1 with BI_CONT 7.11 or we should install BW 7.0 with BI_CONT 704

Secondly, cant we plug-in BI_CONT 704/705 on BW 7.1. What our intention is to activate all the related info objects provided in latest available BI_CONT. On research, we concluded that 7.11 is the earlier version while 704 and 705 are the later and having many new variety that can be activated.

Finally, in SAP note 947953, it is mentioned that 7.11 is exclusively for banking sector. No documentation as such is available about the availability of BI content.

Please advise.

Regards,

Nayab

Thanks Martin

The suggested links were already researched. They didn't have any documentation of 7.11 BI_CONT

Hi Nayab,

based on info in note:

1000822 - Overview: Notes for the add-ons BI_CONT and BI_CONT_XT

I would go for installation of BI_CONT 705 which seems to be the newest "regular" version of BCT.

You can find info about installation in note: 1321293

SAP has only released 7.0 with EHP 1 and 2

while 7.3 is in Ramp-up. In between, there isn't any launched BI product. However, 7.11 is exclusively for Banking Services.
