Hi Folks,
Have a requirement to activate SU management for few storage types.
These storage types are in use and have been stocked.
Due to the existing stock, system does not allow to activate the SU managment.
Error message
"Indicator for SU management cannot be changed
Message no. LT152".
Pl. advise on the steps to be followed for SU managment activation for storage types that are already stocked.
Thanks.
Regards
Hello Sameer,
You will have to move all the stock from these storage types to storage types that will not be changed.
Then you can activate Su management and also maintain number range for these SUs.
After this is done, move the stock back to original storage types.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Komal

Hello Komal,
Say
1. we move the stock to a dummy storage type,
2. Activate the SU mngmnt.
3. Move back the stock to the old storage type.
My only concern with this approach is about the storage bins.
Physically in the WH, no stock would have moved. However when we move the stock back in the system, it is likely that the stock would be moved to different storage bins.
This obviously wont work due to the actual location of stock being different than the system bins.
Hence the query.
Hi Sameer,
You are right. We need to follow simple steps as below:
1. Download the WM stock data with existing BIN details.
2. Create BDC / LSMW to create and Confirm TO for transfer of material from one storage type to other storage type.
3. Transfer the material from existing non SU managed storage (say 104) type to dummy storage type (say Z01).
4. Change Storage Type 104 to SU managed.
5. Transfer the stock back from Z01 to 104 using the BDC/LSMW with BIN details in it.
More steps but this is the way.
Regards,
Praveen.
